The role of molybdeum in alloy steel
Molybdenum, even in extremly small amounts, has considerable effect as an alloying element on the physical properties of steels. Molybdenum improves strength, hardenability, and wear resistance. Molybdenum steels are readily heat-treated, forged and machined.
